As part of the December 3rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities activities, representatives from our university's Disabled Student Unit visited the Şile Disabled Camp, a year-round free holiday facility provided by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality for individuals with disabilities and their families. The initiative aims to promote social integration, equal access to opportunities, and rehabilitation. Accompanied by Camp Director Yunus Kazmaz, our representatives toured the facilities and received information about the programs and activities conducted at the camp.
Additionally, our Disabled Student Unit members attended the official opening ceremony of the Şile Public Education Center Inclusive Life Center, which had undergone maintenance, renovation, and modernization by the Şile Municipality. They toured the facility and learned about its services.
From December 1 to 4, our Disabled Student Unit also visited the Accessible Living Fair at the Istanbul Expo Center, engaging with various initiatives supporting accessibility and inclusion.
